The common “V-style” two-fer in use is a VIOLATION of many aspects of the NEC (National Electric Code). To avoid violation, the male connector must be specifically designed to provide proper strain relief for two cables exiting the connector. Common 2 P&G (stagepin) connectors do not make this allowance. Also, the cable used must be type S or SJ, so that the jacketing can provide suitable protection of the conductors. The commonly used sleeve type jacketing is not acceptable. “Y-style” molded twofers are acceptable, but create bulk and hassle with the inflexibility of the design. The trixfer is the best solution as it provides a single connector utilized as designed and per code as well as supplying a proper tail that integrates well with the rest of your system.
